My therapy

Counselling is a  talking therapy; time set aside by you and the therapist to explore your  issues and challenges on your mental wellbeing. This  involves exploring life events (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. There is significant evidence that working with a professional counsellor offers  immediate benefit  while  building resilience for a future of improved mental health.

My approach is not highly prescriptive. I mould therapy to each client and their needs, working collaboratively together with empathy and without judgement.

First step

A brief telephone / WhatsApp discussion (20 min). For me to get some background and for you to ask any questions.

First session

The first session is aimed at understanding the issues, the history and the current situation and explaining how counselling could work you. If all is well, we would agree on the first number of sessions (usually 6-12). This could be the full extent of the therapy, or we could agree to extend over a longer period.

My fees are set to support fair access to therapy and are based upon earnings (including bonuses, grants, trusts, or family supported earnings).

Fees 2024 - subject to revision

Normal fee: £55 - a reduced fee is available on request.

Earning greater than £100,000 or invoiced through a business: £75
